STRAINERS & FILTERS
A strainer is a piece of equipment used to safeguard pumps, metres, spray nozzles and plate heat exchangers that are farther down the line. Particles are retained by a strainer on the mesh or perforated plate surface of the strainer device.
A filter retains more particles inside the filter element body (such as the filter cloth or filter cartridge), contrary to what the word “filter” imply. In industry jargon, filters and strainers are comparable and are frequently used in the opposite order.
